Hatshepsut Temple

Hatshepsut Temple is the solidification of beauty and the truest reflection of the greatness of the new kingdom (1550-1070 BC) and showcases the vision and glory of one of the most successful rulers in the history of Ancient Egypt Queen Hatshepsut. Colossi of Memnon

Colossi of Memnon is considered to be the guardian of the great city of Luxor. The colossi consist of two blocks of quartzite sandstone standing at the height of 18 m (60ft) weighing 720 tons each which has the shape of Amenhotep III(1386-1350). The colossi are quite damaged due to a large earthquake in 27 BC but were rebuilt again in 199 AD. The statues were famous during the Greco-Roman period as there used to be a rumor of The Vocal Memnon as the statues sang from time to time at dawn in a crying sound which was nothing more than the sound of the wind passing through the statue.
